SPORTS AND EXTREMITY ADJUSTING

Extremity Adjusting involves adjusting joints besides the joints in the spine, such as the jaw, ribs, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, fingers, hip, knee, ankle, foot, and toes. The use of extremity adjusting in conjunction with the adjustment of the spine is a powerful tool when working with athletes. Typically, when the joints of the arms and legs are out of alignment some muscle imbalances will occur. When these joints are adjusted these weak muscles becomes strong and the athlete has a marked improvement in performance. In addition, the athlete is less likely to be plagued with injuries caused by imbalanced movements.

KINESIO TAPING METHOD

Kinesio Taping Method enhance the body's natural healing process and provide support to the muscles without restricting range of motion.
These taping methods work on two levels:

  1. Provides support to muscle structure
  2. Rehabilitates the affected area

By lifting the skin on a microscopic level, Kinesio Tape effectively relieves pain through facilitating lymphatic drainage in the affected muscles. This lifting power also serves to decrease any inflammation that may be occurring. Many factors are taken into account upon application, such as position, strip shape, and the amount of stretch with which the tape is placed. Dr. Yorker has years of experience in the application of Kinesio Tape, assuring an accurate and effective placement and treatment.
